On January 28, 2025, we had the honor of participating in the 3rd edition of the “Shipping, Transport & Logistic Forum,” a major event organized by Telenord in cooperation with the Propeller Club Port of Genoa. The conference, which was attended by experts, companies and industry professionals, addressed crucial topics such as artificial intelligence in maritime and land transport and the ongoing energy transition in the industry.
We were not only spectators, but actively contributed with Stefano Storti’s speech within the panel dedicated to the topic “Innovation in Land Freight Transport. Will energy transition and artificial intelligence change business models and operators’ strategies?”
Storti shared his view on the radical transformation that is affecting both the maritime and land transportation sectors. The introduction in particular of advanced technologies is helping to improve operational efficiency on the one hand, and at the same time reduce environmental impact. Of all the innovations, theartificial intelligence certainly plays a crucial role, for example in fleet management, logistics and route optimization.
Then with reference to the energy transition, Storti spoke about the challenges and opportunities related to the adoption of alternative fuels and more sustainable solutions to reduce CO2 emissions in heavy transport. Indeed, Trasporti Pesanti is actively investing in research and innovation to develop greener practices, aiming for a zero-emission future for the company’s fleet.
Storti’s talk highlighted how crucial an integrated approach is, combining operational efficiency, sustainability and technological innovation. Digitization and automation are key elements for the future of the industry, with artificial intelligence as an indispensable resource to meet the operational challenges of an increasingly competitive market.
